Harringtons Small Goods was first established in Wellington in 1991, by well-known Wellington identity Colin (Harrington) Bridge, the former owner of Embassy Meats in Marjoribanks Street.
The company rapidly established a reputation for producing finest quality small goods from wholesome natural ingredients.

Two key aspects of this early success were:
- The quality of the recipes used, many of which were based on traditional old English, Irish and Continental European small goods recipes;
- The attention to detail that was put into every step of the production process to ensure products of finest eating quality and consistency.
Subsequently the business was acquired by new owners in 1999, one of whom, Angus Black, remains the Managing Director of the company today, with the founder Colin Bridge still involved as a technical advisor.
Angus brought to the company a shared passion for quality and in addition a lot of recipe innovation from his background as a chef and former user of Harringtons products.
During the years since 1999, the company has maintained a loyal following of core customers in both the upper end of the food service sector and specialist retail stores. 2007 saw the investment of new capital into the company and since that time, Harringtons has moved into a new purpose-built processing premises at Miramar as well as opening two retail shops, one at Miramar and the other at Otaki.
During recent years, the company has also acquired supplier relationships with some top quality gourmet meats producers, most notably Dr Rene’s Waimarino Free Range Eco-Pork from Raetihi and Wharehauhau Country Estate Texel Lamb from the South Wairarapa.
These fine quality meats are supplied by Harringtons to customers as fresh cuts as well as used in manufacture of finest quality small goods products.
