• The Texel sheep breed, originally imported from the Netherlands, is a special purpose MEAT BREED of sheep. It produces a carcase of superior conformation to other breeds of sheep in New Zealand which are typically dual purpose (i.e. bred to produce both meat and wool).

• Texel lamb cuts are MORE MEATY with LESS BONE AND FAT compared to traditional New Zealand lamb. They also have SUPERIOR EATING QUALITY.

• Our Wharekauhau Texel Lamb is available FRESH ALL YEAR ROUND due to the farm's special management system, unlike conventional lamb production which offers fresh lamb only in the spring and early summer.
